I was in the path for a fire in the Lincoln/Newcastle area yesterday. After being evacuated I had no information on what was going on with Cal-Fire, Placer Sheriffs and CHP. I hung by an engine to get information of what was going on with the fire and my house. I realized that I was flying blind, so a scanner is now a must. I have some information on local frequencies, but I not sure what scanner to get. Any Advice?
