    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

IC-FR4000 - No Audio

Hello,

Strange issue with this IC-FR4000-3 Repeater. Firmware 1.5

After programming a simple repeater RX/TX Pair, I'm not getting any audio returned when accessing the repeater, just a carrier, and a brief Squelch Tail. (Using 2 HT's for testing)
Searching this Forum, I did find a thread to check PCB CP1 and CP2 circuits for cuts due to UT-109/UT100 Installed Options.

Both CP1 and CP2 appear untouched.

Have anyone run across this and/or have any suggestions on what else to check?

So a bit more info is needed. Does unit have duplexer installed and tuned ? Antenna's on repeater or dummy load. Does it have a hand mic to test with ? I have seen desence do exactly what you describe.

I do have a duplexer that was sent out for tuning on the operating frequencies, an Icom IAS RDN 450B. Vendor indicated a perfect tune, no issues, but again this was done via, USPS. Not ideal I guess.
I tried the Duplexer externally, and I also tried using 2 external roof mounted antennas, approximately 12 feet apart.
Same results, carrier, but no audio. I do have a hand mic I can try, and also a dummy load.

Power output into a Dummy load indicates 25W, and is adjustable via., A06 Power in adjustment mode. No other adjustments were made.

How do I verify if it is indeed desence?
