IC-R20 Beats me -- Help!!

I have just acquired an Icom IC-R20 and am baffled by everything this receiver can do. I own an AOR 8000 and an AOR 8600 Mk 2 and know both those receivers inside and out. Icom it seems use different terminology when it comes to Scanning and Searching. One scan the IC-R20 does is a 'full' scan which scans from the receivers lowest frequency, something like 100kHz up to its top frequency of almost 3GHz -- who would ever scan from beginning to end in one go? Anyway, here's my question. I was to search frequencies between 117.000Mhz and 136.000Mhz. Can someone explain in simple step-by-step how to do this?

Congrats! Great receiver, but yes, the R20 is somewhat complicated. I think what you are looking for are the "Scan Edges" (See pg. 36 in the downloadable PDF owner's manual, link below):

I'd try to give a step-by-step, but honestly, the manual does a better job of it.
