IC-R3 and NimH AA batts

I just ordered an IC-R3. I have read all about how the battery can only run for one hour while the TV is on, the underpowered AC adaptor etc. What I am wondering is this: Has anyone tried Hi-Cap (2650 MaH) NiMH AA batts in the IC-R3? They should be 1000 MaH stronger than a NEW Li-ION Icom battery. So what are the results?

The newer shipped ones have a powerful enough adapter..
AND The LI on Battery has lasted me long time lol
