I have tried to tap the discriminator on my IC-R3 to decode APCO-25 via DSD. I have successfully done so using a radio shack pro-2036 scanner, but am having a difficult time with this radio..
I seem to have some kind of noise or interference being mixed into the baseband signal. I have uploaded samples of a local P25p1 control channel and also a local wx channel so the noise can clearly be heard.
I soldered a wire to pin 9 (afout) at first, as the diagram had stated, but the audio level was extremely low, it couldn't be heard through the pc sound card even on the mic input with a 30db boost.
I soldered to pin 10 (quad) and now I still have a pretty quiet level, and too much noise.
Do any of you guys have any suggestions for me?
to get these audio samples I had to put the signal through an amplifier - that's how quiet it is.
I have also attached the schematic that I used.
The forum would not let me upload my files so I uploaded them to my google drive.
