Does anyone know if Icom have plans to introduce an updated version of the IC-R3 sometime this year? I would like to have a receiver that's capable of receiving video signals and displaying them as well, but based on user comments and some reviews I've seen over time it seems the R3's overall performance doesn't justify the price tag. Has that changed in recent months. Has anyone found a work around to the common sensitivity issues normally associated with this receiver?

Last summer I was in the market for a new scanner. I decided on the Rs instead of the BC250D, because the R3 had the video screen. Since last summer I might have used the screen a total of 5 times with moderate results. Now I wish I would have purchased the 250D instead.
