I'm trying to enter the local frequency 154.30250 directly. I press the VFO/MR button, then the F-INP button, then start to key in the frequency. I get as far as 154.302, but when I press the 5 I'm asked whether I want a single sweep or a continuous sweep. If I choose one, I'm back to the 154.302 freq. If I use the knob to raise the freq. to 154.30250, I get 154.31250. It looks as if the tuning step is 12.5. Is it possible to change the tuning step so I can receive frequencies with five digits after the decimal?

I don’t think the R30 would distinguish that last digit. In other words, most scanners/receivers would receive 154.302 the same as they would 154.3025. Pretty sure it has to do with the receive bandwidth.

It probably doesn't matter for reception. Try changing the TS before you enter the freq. I checked in the software (Icom, RT, CSV) , and I definitely have 442.9625 entered with a 12.5Khz TS, so it's possible. Page 16 basic manual.

I just ordered an R30 today and should get by Friday. I am pretty excited about this receiver. I used to have an AOR 8200-MK3 but sold it. The R30 looks amazing. My main uses will be HF and other utility monitoring. I am also gonna try some UHF sitcom monitoring.
