So these are TG's on someone elses TRS and not actual ICE Frequencies

Those are NC Statewide VIPER system talkgroups, not ICE frequencies. They are often busy in the morning especially when they are doing transports, the TGs are normally/always encrypted.

Looking at the list of talkgroups, after the list of ICE talkgroups there is a large gap number wise until the next talkgroup for the US Forestry Service. Might be fun to plug in the other "missing talkgroups" in your scanner locally and see if they are indeed used but not known and unlisted (so far). I do that for local agencies near me and discover "new talkgroups" once in a while. Also be careful with posting anything ongoing in the forum, it's a no-no until after it's happening.

Have fun

Richard

I include a wildcard TG in my scanner to try to find anything new, and I haven't heard anything in my area.

ICE/HSI do have their own VHF Network in NC/SC/GA
The VHF Net you’re referring to wouldn’t happen to be a P25 NAC 19C would it? I see traces of that & wondered..

VA STARS, quite a ways to CLT. I didn’t make notes but believe it was 162.000 which appears to be in the Fed bands.
162.0000 is an auctioned off Marine channel for agencies away from the Coast (Ch.28)
There are Six STARS sites that have 162.0000 Licensed

The VHF Bands have been wide of open late, so not surprising you hear it

That's the Beamer Knob STARS site, it covers down into Charlotte even on days with no band enhancements.

There seems to be a normal amount of VHF traffic on the ICE network that I've noticed, as usual it's all data or occasional encrypted voice.
