I recently was playing with IceCast, OddCast, a BCT15, an audio cable, TalkGroupMonitor and serproxy.

The alpha tag was changing in VLC constantly, and I don't think the audio was really matching up with the alpha tags, I can't be sure the alpha tags changed so dang much LoL.

Is there some kind of trick to getting them to all match up or something or no?

While running the program, listen to the scanner's speaker (not through the Icecast server) and see if the titles displayed by the Talkgroup Monitor program match up with what you are hearing on the scanner. You might also try running the program with the -v command-line option (like "monitor -v") to see what the scanner is reporting.

Before running the program with the -v option I would suggest downloading version 3.0, I just put it on my web site. I rewrote the part of the program that figures out what the scanner is doing and also added support for a new command supported by all of Uniden's newer scanners except for the 246T which makes the output you'll see when using the -v option more readable.

You can get version 3.0 at http://www.scangwinnett.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=4

Hmmm

I'm using 3.0 with the same title.txt as the old version for the BCT15 and now each time it's saying not found in titles.txt for even stuff that is in titles.txt even when I removed all mine and just put in one, it still says no found.

Did you remove the "ID S " from the beginning of each line?

With the old version you would have put "ID S 48," in the titles file, now you just put "48," in the file.

That looks right when listing frequencies.

Run the program with the -v option with the output redirected to a file, like:

monitor -v > output.txt

and let it run long to capture the scanner stopping on a frequency or two that's listed in your titles.txt file and then e-mail it and your titles.txt file to me at gordon@scangwinnett.com

Thanks,
Gordon

Thanks for letting me know, I can test the program on a 245xlt, and 246t, and a 996T, for the other models I go by the protocol documents Uniden has on their web site.

I found the problem, when using a Uniden scanner that uses their new protocol (the BCT-15, 996T, etc), the program uses a new command that was added after the 246T was released. That command returns the current frequency with the decimal point in the value and the command I was using before didn't return the period.

I fixed this in version 3.0.1 which is now available. I also modified the program so that frequencies in the titles.txt file can be of the format nnn.nnnn or nnnnnnnn.
