Hey guy first and foremost hope everyone taking all precautions and staying safe.

Now, recently acquired once again a Uniden BC796D (should of never sold mine couple of years ago. And decided to reload an old .mem from 2015 that worked fine on my 796D back then.

Loaded it yesterday and wont do ID SEARCH by pressing the DOT and or holding TRUNK down.

Made a new file from RR database using ARC250PRO and still wont work. doing the same as stated above.

This is how I have the settings.

Trunk Type: MOT TYPE 2 - UHF
icall - ON
Status bit - ON
End code - Detect

Base Config 1

Frequency - 0480.5000
Step - 012.50
Offset CH - 380

Base Config 2

Frequency - 0470.0125
Step - 012.50
Offset CH - 380

Base Config 3

Frequency - 0481.5500
Step - 012.50
Offset CH - 580

Activity ID - Checked

Would appreciate info anyone that has the BC796 or BC296D working fine with ICI P25 in advance. Thanks

The trunking type is currently set for the old SmartZone system (MOT TYPE 2 - UHF ). Change it to P25. The control channels are the same.

You will need to change all of the talkgroups. Trunktracker talkgroup divided by 16 equals P25 talkgroup. It will be easier download or retype using the database as the source. There have also been new sites added since 2015.

Talkgroups were downloaded from the RR DATA base Since I am a Premium Subscriber. Oh and BTW the trunking type was already on TYPE2/P25 UHF. (original post typo)

So with TYPE2/P25 UHF and downloaded data with updated talkgroups does nothing.

Thanks for your reply

The P25 Digital trunking is a whole new entity in the scanner hobby ...... I have Issues with a Current 996P2.....try it on a analog trunking system like Signal hill PD and see if it works .....

It could be a simulcast issue. Which system are you having a problem with?

yes to 3.60

This is what I am using.....

BURBANK

BASE 1 - 470.000 12.5 CH380

GLENDALE

BASE 1 - 470.000 12.5 CH380
BASE 2 - 481.550 12.5 CH500
BASE 3 - 481.550 12.5 CH500

And the sound quality settings I have it low 433, mid 1985, upp 3442 (whereas LAPD decodes better at 733-833 for some reason)

and to SEARCH I also have to open the squelch up for some reason.
