Torrance Fire was doing testing today on the system. Engine 93 was driving around talking to Engine 94 checking for dead zones I guess.

Its just not South Bay that is closing down their systems. Its just that they finally got caught up with what the rest of the systems and counties are doing. Be thankful you got the last 20 years of listening with this that city. Encryption started in the SoCal basin 20 years ago. Keep in mind that any new TRS system going up is not going to leave LE in the clear anymore. It just doesn't happen in SoCal now.
I heard San Marino PD Dispatch on Talkgroup 2152 on the new Montebello Site on midnight hours on 4-21
Whats nice about this Montebello P25 is that it has a strong signal and its centrally located in La County area.

I can’t confirm, but it sounds like Downey just cut over to ICI tonight. This comes after multiple local rumors of their switch over happening soon. Their main PD1 analog channel is silent, and Air 24 came up asking for dispatch on it, in which the DS came up and replied that they “don’t use this channel anymore”.
Yes, it would appear they have, and that they are now encrypted. I wonder where the rumors came from though...
Wonder when Downey Fire will be switching over now? I know Whittier PD will be next to encrypt and join ICI

Arcadia PD will be switching to ICIS and will be encrypted beginning July 1. They will be keeping the old system as well for backup.
All the remaining cities within The County of Los Angeles that are on their own P25 or Analog systems will eventually either join ICIS or LA-RICS for interops. Most likely they will all go Big E whoever is remaining beside LASO and LAPD
