Icom: Icom 2820H

I just picked up icom 2820. Im curious to know if any one that has used this radio before notice signal drop on the S meter.When going from FM wide to narrow signal metter drops on receiving station.

Perfectly normal. You can expect a reduction in signal by using Narrow FM. There's no need to use it on the ham bands outside of digital.

That can be part of it, but it's more the digital modes themselves. Any digital mode is going to potentially sound more robotic than analog, whether it goes through the internet or not.

Dstar the worse for it.When dstar came out years ago and now. There any difference in the digital vocoder in the older dstar radios vs New?
