MattRiley said:So, I asked an icom dealer today as they were in to program our F70D's with P25. I asked him this exact question, and he was pretty sure they would with some software mods, was told so by someone else he knows through ICOM. Said he wouldn't condone it, but that what he's heard it might work. Said he was tempted to try, but didn't feel like risking his stock.
Actually I would have thought he was asking about the Icom F70D radio. An F70 with the factory installed UT-120 (hence the F70D designation) either comes already P25 capable or is made capable by installing the EX-2785 software.fineshot1 said:I must assume you are talking about an IC-V82. Is that correct?MattRiley said:So, I asked an icom dealer today as they were in to program our F70D's with P25. I am not 100% sure but beleive the DStar and P25 pcb's are two different boards with different pin connectors, so dont think this will work software changes or not.
I know this was discussed before on another thread but I dont think it was resolved.
Hmmm, I just thought he had jumped from ham gear to the PS gear he uses...yep, time to wait for him to comment on it.fineshot1 said:Actually if you are correct Lou it does have to do with this topic. I was assuming a ham portable due to his reference "2M HA" in his original post. I am confused by this so could the op please clarify. TIA....
