So I have my Icon 706 hooked up to a G5RV Jr 51ft. It won't transmit on any band on SSB. Is this because my SWR is high, 6 meters is a good example, on 6 meter FM my Auto Tuner clicks and tunes and tunes it to 1:1 SWR and everything is cool, but if I switch to SSB on 6meter my 706 won't transmit, and Tuner doesn't tune. Is this because the SWR is just too high on SSB, I am just confused as to why it works on FM RTTY but not CW or SSB. Hopefully this thing isn't busted, any help the radioreference world can give me would be appreciated.

Have you investigated whether your microphone is or is not defective? Wiring problems? Are you attempting to listen with another radio to be sure it's got output?
