So I see that Icom (still not out yet I think?) has revised the 7300 now MK2 version with HDMI output like the 7610 for a external monitor and a few other add on,s very nice to have a external display , NOW can we get a Icom R8600 MK2 ...been out awhile with the same?? and some updated modes/features ? yeah right? 73,s Marcy

My guess is no, hopefully I'm wrong. The 7300 stands to hit a considerable market of buyers; I anticipate the 8600 sees far less and if anything, that would be the reason.

As to updated modes, it's been discussed numerous times. Icom would have probably sold more 8600's had they caved in and added DMR, but apparently that is never going to happen.

Only time will tell...I didn't think Uniden would release a new scanner either, and look what happened.

Yes always nice to think "what if" though but your probably right no market for something like a Icom R8600MK2
but I do like the new features on the 7300 like the (mentioned) video out port, and whats cool is "The Receive only Ant.

There’s also the potential buyers of used 7300 and R8600 waiting as well for others to upgrade when new models release. The ethernet and HDMI ports on the Mk2 will pull many current owners to upgrade for one or both of those features alone.

I think we will see an upgraded 7100 transceiver next, before an R8600 Mk2 from Icom. I would not mind a VHF/UHF/HF transceiver with color remote head and a 3:1 internal tuner.
