Icom: ICOM-9700 MIC not working

Icom 9700 Stock Mic stopped working, I get no response from PTT or up and down buttons at the top of the mic, I did test it in VOX only the mic function will work when activated, PTT and up/down buttons will not work, is there a setting in the 9700 that I should look at? I am currently using the IC 35 desk mic, for my currant set up id rather use the hand mic.


Should I just get a new HM219 hand mic? they are not all that expensive in relation to the radio.

Do a reset or reload your last stored setup. If you were using the radio in remote mode some things can get stuck in remote like tx audio, etc.

If the desk mike works, and the HM-219 doesn't, I'd see if you can test the 219 on another rig. If not, may be worth cracking open the barrel connector and make sure the wires didn't pop loose from the pins before tossing it.
