Icom: icom ic-207 ptt

I have a old icom 207

pressing ptt quickly i have no problem

pressing ptt for more than a second and the transmit locks in full power

if i turn off the 207 it will repeat the same values when switched on


i have tried servisol on the micro switch thinking it might be some ferrite build up, dust etc

any suggestions

I had that same problem with that radio years ago. My connection to the battery wasn’t very good. [liter socket] when I wired it to the battery, that problem never happened again.

i have now clean sprayed the microswitch for a third, time and balance of the switch by placing the handheld mic at angle so the switch got cleaned
and the dirt got clear appears to have cleared the Residual dirt from the contacts and mechanics

hope this helps a commoning problem
