Still have one I bought when they first came out. They were much like the RTL SDR USB sticks that have proliferated this hobby now. With Bonito software they operated much the same but with better shielding due to the metal case. I did not buy the DSP module (UT-106) though, so I do not get the advantage of the cleaner signal. I did download software that let me use it with a Palm Pilot though, so it lived in my car, with a better antenna for a number of years. The Palm Pilot being used to tune and scan mostly VHF and UHF in my area. The antennas that Icom provided were trash. Software worked ok on Windows XP. This was also the first receiver used in the first Predator UAV's (RQ-1). However, the military received better software, and no blockage of cellular bands. I still use it as a computer connected receiver, but SDR sticks are easier to carry around and use these days. If you can find one cheap $150-200 they are a fun toy, I would not pay more for one though.
