Icom IC-R5 not working

I have an IC-R5 receiver which i plugin the power supply and the radio didn't work. After checking i noticed the power supply was giving out more voltage than normal. Im worried i might have blown the radio. would it be worth to send it in for repairs, and what normal blows on the mother board if the wrong voltage is plugged into the receiver.

I know this is an old thread, but did you try batteries in the radio before assuming you fried it?
