I have a new Icom IC-R5 and would like to know the best mobile based antenna i can get. I monitor the 155.00 range as well as the 800-1300 range. Can I used RG-6 cable to feed the antennna?

The debate will never end on that question. Here's my opinion -- IF you use good RG-6, like the type a good satellite installer would use, and IF you are running no more that 75-100ft, and IF the 800 signals are fairly strong local signals, THEN you will not see any difference with LMR400 or any other expensive coax. Things change otherwise.
