Hello DX'ers,
I did purchase an ICOM IC-R75 and very happy with its CW.LSB, and USB performance. It is very easy to use and it works great with Ham Radio Deluxe. The only problem I have is with the MW Band. I can only pick up a local station with a 20db. I am from Connecticut and on my Grundig 750 I hear many, many NY MW broadcast at night and reception is very good. My new ICOM IC-R75 is not able to pick up those night time broadcast. What is wrong with the AM, MW Band on my new rig?

Your 750 has a MW loop built-in. The r75 requires an external antenna for ALL the bands including MW.
Your antenna you are using there may catch signals in the HF bands but is not enough to get MW because the lower the frequencies, the longer the antenna needs to be.
You need at least 50' of horizontal wire outside, fed with 50ohm coax and the coax braid grounded for rf at least, to get ok reception in MW

I did find 1 problem as the line to antenna 2 was not properly fitted. Now my local MW station hit a 40db. I did find out that if I connect a wire to my base board water pipe, copper pipe, it works like a long wire. You see where I live I am not able to do external antenna.

If you can't do an outdoor antenna, then consider a medium wave loop in doors. They work very well. One problem with the R75 is that it has a high pass filter built in to reduce interference from strong AM stations, so in other words as you tune lower in frequency towards 540khz, the sensitivity of the radio drops precipitously. A medium wave loop antenna will definitely make a big difference.
