Icom: Icom ID-4100 Mic Extension

I need to extend the mic. The Icom cable is $75. Can I use a standard Cat6 extension cable?

I had an IC-2100 and I believe that I still have the coiled mic cable minus the mic (circa the 1990s') with the intact male Cat ? connector. If you or anyone else is interested, I'll look for it. If found it's free +shipping costs.

yes You can absolutely extend it with a female rj45 adapter and a cat 5 or cat 6 i do it on m id-5100a no issues
