I recently received a flyer from the W7AQ Radio Club in Yakima, Washington about their annual hamfest on April 16, 2005. The flyer advertised that ICOM and a few of their dealers were going to be present for the day.
I drove 200 miles to get to this hamfest, because I wanted check out the latest equipment ICOM had for sale, and possibly make an ICOM radio purchase.
I arrived at the hamfest early and found out that ICOM was not there. ICOM apparently had denied a scheduled local dealer their franchise (ALF Enterprises) because their yearly sales were supposedly $1,500 short of their annual sales goal. ALF is no longer an ICOM dealer and will not show up and any more hamfests.
Thanks for nothing ICOM!! YAESU has a new customer, ME!!!
