Hi guys!
I know it's an old radio but I still find they have their use :)
I noticed the other day one of my PCR1000's was about 250Hz off frequency when listening to ssb calls,
so I used the EX-2099 software and hooked up the frequency counter to the CP4 point which should read 10.250000MHz and sure it showed ~10.249750MHz.
However - the software only allows you to tune it +/- 128Hz...

So what could make the reference oscillator that much off, and is there any way to coarse adjust it before fine tuning it in the software?

Cheers!

EX-2099/PCR1000BUR both got it, but it only adjusts +/- 128Hz which is too little.
So it looks like I need a new crystal..

Yes sir I did, even had backups from when it was almost new.
However I solved it by lowering the capacitance of the crystals caps a bit,
a couple of pico and it rose a couple hundred Hz - and fine tuned with software.
Seems to be working a treat so far...
Thanks for the tips though!
