Hi. I am just getting back into monitoring after several years away from the hobby. I am interested in the Icom PCR1500. My question is...does having this RX in such close proximity to all my computer equipment create issues of interference? I would think that unless the RX box is very well shielded, that having it in such an enviroment would create issues. I recently dusted off my old PRO2006 and have been enjoying MILAIR again, and have been bitten by the bug.

Any information on how well this RX deals with being near the PC and monitors and 802.11 equipment would be appreciated.

It works just fine! I used mine in my computer office within five feet of my computer, and other radio equipment, with the antenna in the same room no less! Of course using an outside antenna would be even better.

Hello,

Since you are interested in the IC-R1500/PCR1500, you might also want to check out the IC-R2500/PCR2500, which isn't out yet in the USA, but has been released in Japan.

The primary differences are dual receivers and the ability to receive "D-Star" or APCO P25 CAI (no trunking) (using one of two different optional boards).

Some people who have just bought the IC-R1500 are selling their radios so that they can get the IC-R2500.
