Any update on the success/problems associated with the IF tap mod? I have read the mod instructions and all appears to be straight forward. Any better methods surface? Inclusion of all modes including WFM? Thanks for any news.

I'm the one that documented the one in the Wiki, and I've done it twice. There is no better method that I know of and both times I did it have resulted in perfect success.

I too followed the instructions in the Wiki for an R2500 that I have since sold. It had a nice clean and strong output at 10.7 MHz. I used it with an RFSpace SDR-14 for spectral analysis. Worked superbly.

Glad to hear that no problems have been uncovered. I'm planning on using the tap/mod for an SDR-IQ. I've researched the available wideband rigs and have thought about an IC-8500 but there is a mixed opinion on this radio. Stopping short of spending $10K++, any suggestions for a widebander with a 10.7Mhz IF output? About $2k as the top limit? Thanks!
