I have an Icom R5 purchased from e-bay. I have noticed that the audio tends to blank out quite frequently on the speaker. It does tend to work better with and earphone in, but sometimes goes deaf with the earphone in as well. I have seen elsewhere that others have the problem on occasion and it stems from the earphone jack itself. I have yet to find an effective solution. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it. I use it mostly for airshows so would like to preserve the earphone jack, but would be willing to solder and bypass it if it will just keep the audio alive. I have tried the suggestion of plugging in the earphones in and out several times, and it does not resolve the issue. Tks for any suggestions or help.
