Icom R5 data cable schematic

Does anyone have reliable info on building the data/programming cable for the Icom R5 radio?

I've found a couple different plans, but they seem to be conflicting. I was hoping someone on here had built one before that they know is safe to connect without overloading the radio or serial ports...

Attached is the circuit diagram for the actual OPC-478 cloning cable.

It is the one sold by Icom, and is one of the two specified for the Icom R5, so you shouldn't have any problems with it.

I have used the same cable on my R10 for many years, without any problems.

Yep, you are correct...

it took a couple days to put together all the right parts (and I substituted in for some values that I had laying around) but as long as you get it close to the diagram it should work just fine for the IC-R5....
