Icom r5

My icom r5 has stopped receiving airband it picks up everything else and when I change to fm I can hear the transmission but very crackly as it needs to be on am .
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm no expert, and in no particular order: It could be something with the R5 hardware, it could be interference from nearby transmitters, the antenna setup, distance from what you're trying to monitor, or a random menu setting. Really hard to say without more details.

What step size for the AM band are you using? Are you using VFO mode to search or are these programmed memory channels? Can you share more about the frequency or location you're trying to listen to?

Also, have you tried doing a partial or full reset (assuming you've backed everything up) to see if that helps? See screen shot attached from the R5 owner's manual...

Running airbsnd but still the same outcome

It's my stored searches I've also tried running airband but it's still the same outcome I've also done a reset and nothing helps the situation .
I'm in London literally can see Lcy from my house and can also see Lambourne hold so aircraft are very near .

Hmm... are there other AM stations you can listen to and verify if AM is working at all on your R5 -- such as the local AM broadcast band?

Also... might want to check in the menu settings regarding the headphone/earphone or the internal bar antenna choices. Good luck, hope something works out!
