I am thinking of a Icom IC-R6 but their brochure has conflicting spec's.

General Frequency coverage 0.100 - 1309.995* MHz

but it also says it has some gaps:

0.100–29.995, 50.2–51.2, 87.5–107.995,
144–146, 430–440, 1240–1300 MHz

That does not even list 220 Mhz area!

So which is it?

The gaps that the brochure shows are for France (the country - label to the left of the list), but for the US, it only skips the “cell phone” frequencies.

Your signature implies you live in Ohio, so you will only miss the cellular frequencies if you buy a US version. And yes I have two R6 receivers, both are US models.

Here is a quick picture of the specs from the owner’s manual

My euro spec R6 is continuous from start to finish with no tuning gaps.

A very good radio, but limited keypad makes it more complicated to use. Although almost twice as large, my BCT125 is more user friendly.

Get one, it's an outstanding little wideband receiver, own three of 'em (black, red and blue units)...

@palmerjrusa has me beat, I only have a black one and a red one :). I agree get one, I use RT Systems software to program mine. I use the cable you buy from RT Systems, so if you already have that one USB-29A, you only need the software. The software and cable work great on my Windows 10 desktop.

I just received my IC-R6 and I am very impressed! Just doing some civil air band scanning. for now and it is doing great right now I have a Diamond SR77CA on it

I ordered RT systems software and cable but it will be a couple of days. In the meantime I can start loading frequencies into the software as it is download and I will be ready when the cable comes

Indeed, the R6 is a cracking little scanner even if it doesn’t have anything more than AM and FM. A bit of SSB would have been lovely but I have the R30 for that.

And I have a TH-D74 that can do it. But I do not use scanners or my HTs for HF anyway my little SkyWave SSB does ok along with other portables and trusty old R71.
I always wanted to get a Icon R30 but never did
