Just picked up a log perodic beam that goes up to 2ghz. The Icom scans very slow so does anyone know
of a portion of the 1-2ghz band to scan? Im sure there is alot of digital data but any analog still left.

AFAIK, the only thing you'll find left is the 23cm ham band. 1260-1300mhz I think.

1240-1300MHz. FM repeaters are in the 1270-1276 (input) and 1282-1288 (output) portion, and FM simplex is between 1294-1295 (1294.500 is the calling channel). Channel spacing is 25kHz. Other modes are represented throughout the band as well, of course.

Probably not much fm activity in western nc but your
feedline quality will play a major role in your being
able to receive anything on 23cm. Also the shortest
possible length should be used to reduce losses.
