Hi guys,

I am looking at buying an Icom RX7 scanner, but I have read that the volume level is very low, is this correct? If so how low is it?

Best regards
Nick

Low enough that I always use an earpiece when outside. Other than that I love my RX7.

Please Elaborate

If you dont mind me asking, what is it you love about the RX7? I have one and dont use it too much. What do you like about it and what types of monitoring do you use it for>?

Thanks for your input.

I like the sensitivity of mine, I use it for civil and mil air, I think the search and scan speed is fast and the menu system is easy to navigate and I like the looks of it as well. I think it has a nice weight and size, I wish it had SSB. Yes, the audio seems a little low....

I agree with airwolfbell222.

I never use the banks in my other ICOMs. It is very hard to figure out and impossible to remember how to use banks without reading the instructions every time I pick them up. The RX7 menu system is very well done. In particular turning on and off skipping of banks is great and the alpha tags are easy to use.

I like my R6 but I don't use banks at all. If you don't need banks I would recommend the R6.
