iCom Trensceiver Scan Issue

I recently bought an iCOM IC-F3061 transceiver. I can't get the thing to scan properly. It will start scanning, and randomly stop and return to the initial channel it started to scan on. I've tried working through the manual, as well as the programming software help, but it doesn't help me at all.

In addition, the radio picks up a lot of unwanted interference in my house. I've got a lot of electronic equipment, and it really plays with the radio.

Sounds like a grounding problem. Do you use a hand mike or desk mike? If hand mike is used, tweak the button holding prongs tighter. This worked for me.

The Icom F3061 is a portable radio. You need to check priority channel settings. The busy channel lockout should be off if you are using public safety channels. Otherwise, any "skip" coming in will stop you from transmitting. Most Icom radios have an software squelch setting that may need to be increased.
