Icom: ID-5100 RX audio fading fading out for 0.5sec every few seconds

I just bought the ID-5100 and i didn't notice it initially. I noticed that when operating on DR mode (regardless whether it is a DV or FM repeater, the audio fades out for about 0.5 seconds (or disappears and then comes back) every 5-6 seconds. Initially i thought it might be because it does not decode properly the digital audio and drops packets, but it also happens on AM.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

Could it be the weather alert (WX) function, that is supposed to check for weather alerts every 5 sec?

I figured it out. It was the weather alert function. Every 5 sec I was checking for weather alerts and respectively the RX audio was disappearing for a fraction on a second. I guess the priority channel watch might cause similar issue.
