I have an HP-1 without the extreme update as of now. Is it possible to search for new talk groups in a system? We have a new system coming on line in Cleveland and it seems that the only TG’s that I’m able to receive are the 2 confirmed TG’s in the RR database. My firmware and database are up to date. Am I able to do this or is the upgrade needed.

1) If you have not already copy the system in question over to a Favorites List using Sentinel.
2) Once the system is in a favorites list within Sentinel highlight the
favorites list then select "edit favorites list" as seen here:
Once the favorites list has been opened in the editor look under
the system name and look for the "options" tab as see here:
Change the "ID:Search" box from "Off" to "On".
Save the change to the favorites list File->Save then write
the favorites list with the change to the HomePatrol.
Once done the Favorites list will now be in ID Search mode rather than
ID Scan Mode.

Thank You!! Was able to turn the ID search on and wrote to the HP. Great instructions! Just one more question. Can I just run this system in full data base scan or do I need to hold it on the system I'm searching.
I dont think you have tha ID search function with the full database...it is not necessary to hold a system to ID search with favorites lists. Obviously new talkgroups that do not match your favorites list database will return "unknown" in the department line but you will hear them all and see the TGID and UID data displayed in the channel line.
