• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I just bought and used this tool while i was installing coax throughout my condo this tool works awesome and quick. i got it from my Snap-on dealer for around $40 witch was worth it when i used it. it claims it works with rg-59, rg-6, rg-6q, rg-11, and mini, i used it on rg-6 "quadshield" coaxial, and it worked fantastic. it made all the pains of running cables through and behind finished walls alittle easier. the whole name of the tool is called the Ideal Omniseal PRO Compression Tool the sku # 30-603. it compresses F-type, mini F-type, rca, and mini rca connectors. i would highly recommend this tool.

I have one just like it. Had it for years and I highly recommend it. Better than the crimp-on crimpers and God forbid, the twist-on crap.

i was once a fool and bought those twist on caps, i thought they worked so slick, but they had such a poor connection and they never held/gripped the cable, and boy did they leak. do you know if you can get bnc type compression ends?

They have a newer one out that also does BNC's and RCA (phono) plugs in addition to what you mentioned and is about the same price. Amazon often has the ideal Omni seal connectors much cheaper than Home depot or local vendors.
