Identifying police cars

I saw a car on 75 around Clio that only said Metro Police. Is that Detroit? Is there a way to identify which county a sherrif is from? I saw the license plate was 73*xxx

If it's a sheriff's department plate, the first 2 digits are the county number. 73 would be Saginaw County.

Metro Police Authority of Genesee County serves Swartz Creek City, Mundy Township and Gaines Township. If they were in Clio it was probably for a warrant pick up or drop off.

I think the Swartz Creek/ Mundy PD calls themselves Metro.
