Been running it since it has come out (out of Beta, that is) and I've had no problems. I don't see any big difference from 7, other than the glut of useless extras they added (accelerators???)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

This is an association issue. To fix it, right click an affected file and click open with. Then select the program you want to use and check the always use this program checkbox and this should solve the problem.

I did do that and this is what I get...it states..The command failed to execute. it worked fine before I installed IE8 and still works fine with foxfire the problem is I use MSN premium with verizon and have everything setup to run off of the verizon start up page, all of my emails go there and have a very long list of favorites set up there for the last ten years. if I have time this weekend I am going to uninstall IE8 and reload IE7.

I too had issues with IE-8, went to Firefox but this new version is glitched when you go to clear Private data you have to too more than I am willing to do. I got Google Chrome and refuse to use Mozilla or Microsoft browsers ever again.

In Vista, IE8 is listed under Installed Updates. In WinXP, it's listed in the Add/Remove Programs under Windows Internet Explorer 8.

Yes in a work environment, it probably isn't best to go to. We don't use it because we have numerous applications that use ActiveX controls and other plug-ins that do not work with IE8. Its a pain in the butt to coordinate with all parties that they get their applications up-to-date to be able to move on to IE8. For us, they need to because a few months after Windows 7 comes out or get SP1 (which is most likely the case) we'll be moving to it so all applications will need to be compatible with IE8 by then.

As far as Firefox, yes, I love it and use it at home 90% of the time. But for a work environment, you cannot manage settings with AD plus ActiveX controls do not work with it. So, we only let people that need to use it use it.

Each has their place.

I found MSIE 8 to be a little bit wacky. So I went back to FireFox and updated that to v 3.5. Life is good!
