I've been using the RC for a while now, I like it IE9 is awesome. Although I am posting this from FF.......when the RTM is out at 9PM PDT I'll be saying bye to FF and hello to IE9.

IE9 is definitely an improvement but Chrome is my browser of choice now... not only on my Win7 machines but on my Mac and Windows XP machines too.

Mac and XP, it's time for you guy's to update. I used to like Chrome, but it just doesn't cut it for me compared to FF or IE9. Plus I'm not a fan of Google.

Either I'm completely missing something or the Favorites Sync is not in the final version. If it is I sure can't find it. A page at Microsoft's site said to install the "Windows Live Toolbar" from Windows Live Essentials, although I can find nothing of that name in the Live Essentials download. I'm either completely missing the boat or IE is completely missing the feature. :)

It is definitely an improvement in speed over its predecessors, but I'm not convinced I'd drop FF for it. Chrome is off of my list because it belongs to Google.

I got such great support and help when buying my scanner, I thought I would drop in and see what to buy in the way of a laptop. Ive looked till im blind again.
I would like 15" screen. long battery life i5 a couple of usp ports mod amount of hard disk space and storage. Im looking for the fastest one without paying a huge price. I keep seeing $599. that just seems too high. When I drop below that, I start seeing the i3. no glare screen, standard keyboard. Ideas?

Been using firefox with no virus software for over a year now and had no problems

FF4 is also available for Mac, Linux, Win XP, Vista and 7 while IE 9 is only available for Vista and 7. I've downloaded the new FF and it's slower than IE9, takes longer to launch and hogs more memory. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against FF as it's been my browser of choice for quite a while IE is just better.

"Internet Explorer 9 isn’t compatible with Windows XP, ageing operating system that was released ten years ago...."

Vista / 7 / IE9 - Dumping the old

Firefox - Staying compatible

I use IE 8/9 and Chrome interchangeably. Used Firefox.....didn't like it.....never tried it again. I use Thunderbird, though.

I have XP 64 and Firefox works fine for me...

Oh it works fine for me too, just sayin....after further review I found out that their 64 bit version is in alpha stage at this time. You can find it via their FTP servers.

IE9 works well also. I use Adblock Plus in Firefox and the only solution in IE that seems viable is a version that costs $$. Not that I'm cheap or anything but it's one of the reasons why I'll stick with Firefox.

There is no reason to run multiple antivirus/spyware programs, they only block eachother and may at some point in time cause conflicts. I'd suggest Microsot security essentials.

Using an adblock in the browser won't cause conflicts.

To do adblocking in IE9 you'll have to add tracking protection lists which will block ads.

Avira, Comodo firewall, with DD-WRT using IPtables. In Firefox I use Noscript which will block the door for viruses and adware from the beginning.

Sense SPI can only do so much, it's best to also have a good software firewall as well. Especially if you use torrents.
