If we removed all advertisements from RR for premium subscribers, would you go premium? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

If we did this, the ONLY ads that would stay would be the ScannerMaster ad at the top of all pages and the ebay ads that show up in the wiki. Everything else would be gone for premium subscribers.

Thoughts? Let's hear it.

Please, pretty please, no *****ing and whining.

Thanks!

What would this mean for feed providers? would we have ads since we grouped with premium?
I would of course keep the feed going but i would also pay the premium charge to get rid of ads, i spend so many hours a day on rr.com that the ads between the forum posts are very hinder some.

But you are still the best either way Lindsay! :)

I think that would be a another good incentive to get a premium account, if that were the case I would probably get a premium subscription.

I'm a premium subscriber, still have ads, but to be honest I don't mind them. I have my own website so I understand the time and money it takes to keep RR going. From time to time I click the AdSense banners to send more money your way. But if others want them gone it's cool with me.

The ads drove me crazy but a few users in the forum mentioned AdBlockPro. Been using it for months now and I have no more ad issues.

Ads are ALWAYS bothersome on ANY website. With that being said, some websites have nothing but ads and don't offer any REAL reason for the site even being up.

Because RR offers soooooooo much, I wouldn't have it any other way to have a ad here and there. The information given in the site easily offsets any ad that I would ever come across.

Ads. No ads......... I'd still think the site is WELL worth it.

I being a subscriber have actually found some of the ads to be quite helpful.. (ex... Quad core processor Amd Phenom 2 Black edition was on sale for 139.00 through tiger direct normally on tigerdirect.com its 199.99)

just an honest opinion but some people may prefer no ads so to be honest they dont bother me, But if they need to go for more subscribers to sign up for premium then i say do it for premium users and beef up ads for non premium users:)

I'd love to see no ads, and would pay, if I had to for that privelege. I'd like to see if this was going to be extended to feed providers also.

That being said, it seems like awhile back, the ads got bigger. I didn't really notice the small 2" tall ones, but now, they can take up a whole screen while perusing the forums, and this is annoying. Sometimes when the ad doesn't load correctly, I get a solid blank ad covering my whole screen.

I'd pay for ad-less.

I would love to see no ads, especially since I am already a premium subscriber and have had a couple not so great experiences with a particular major advertiser.

Since I'm not a Premium Subscriber at this time, I really don't have a say. I really don't mind them though, on most sites. I too understand the cost of running a site like this. I am just happy it is here, and it has the information available. I do find info in the adds that help me in decisions, or sometimes they explain things I read about :) At any rate, if I can get back to work soon, I will become a "Paying Member", just give a little extra help.

Thinking about it, I guess I have become adept at ignoring them, as long as they don't pop up and always cover up what I want to see. It would be a travesty to pay and have that to deal with.

I feel the same way about smoking in a public place; I don't care as long as nobody blows it in my face, and I can't smell it. So IMHO, run the numbers and do whatever.
Nobody needs to remind me about secondhand smoke either, my wife always throws in her .02---

Thanks for asking! I think removing the ads for premium subscribers is a wonderful idea. I hate the ads and find them very large and distracting, sometimes making it hard and somewhat frustrating to follow a thread. I applaud you for continually looking for ways to improve this wonderful site!
