Somehow I doubt it though you have a good point. Milwaukee is still on their own system plus, I think it's fun to hear what's going on in Suburban Chicago. There's something neat about the way they dispatch on IFERN. Contract that to a few dispatchers around here that sound like they are going to fall apart, stammer or sound like they just out of bed at times.

I may be wrong but,I think the patch was put up so Milwaukee County departments on 800 could talk to the VHF departments without having to carry 2 radios with them.

You're right. When GMIA Fire comes on the system shortly, the permanent patch should be coming down. Most of the trucks still carry two radios because the entire region is not 800. In fact, I hope to see Racine fire on VHF within the next year or so - as they are a UHF island right now.

And none of this discussion brings in the state interoperability plan. The statewide system is going to be VHF trunking. So at some point we have to think of the subscriber sales!

Wasn't to long ago when Walworth County Fire was Low Band,High Band & UHF..that was crazy.
Hmm,maybe it was long ago and I am just old,think it's been almost 10 years since it was like that.
