If the state troopers are on a APCO-25 system then what are these freqs for? http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=580
I know I can't pick up the APCO-25 system freqs because they are digital.

I programed them in with all the talk groups and get transmissions every now and then. It says that its EDACS so I put it in as that but I get the trasmissions when I set the freqs to Mot. as well. I don't understand.

Wellllll....according to the database you provided, IL State Police Chicago District is an EDACS system. Obviously they use a different in the Chicago area. So program in the frequencies in their logical order, and entered the talkgroups. Sayin'?

The State Police is entirely analog right now. The StarCom21 Astro25 system is not yet functional, and probably will not be until 2006 or so. Some sites may get on the air this year for testing purposes. Statewide utilization may not occur for several more years after that.

The system is already 5 years late. It is getting later....

Attached is the latest CARMA profile on State radio operations. It covers all the State Police and other state radio operations as currently structured.
