Anybody in So. Cal/Ventura-Oxnard area hearing ironic transmission on 146.52 mhz.
Off and on traffic thru the day no ID .
Sounds like a couple kids playing.
146.52 is 2 meter simplex freq.
I will keep scanning and monitoring.

You weren’t. The thread was moved to the appropriate regional forum. Also that’s just the culture of 2 meters in Southern California and it’s a long history that goes back quite a way and ties in with some infamous people that used to be on the Los Angeles .435 repeater and former 7255 LSB group chat.

Let’s just say it’s fortunate that that was the worst you heard.

BTW. Getting a little bit of intermod along with the signal
If you get intermod then it most probably are intermod products you are listening to and the transmission takes place on another frequency and are right outside your house. Verify using another receiver.

There are some default Baofeng frequencies in the 145MHz band as well as others in VHF that people seem to use when they buy a Chinese radio and doesn't bother to reprogram or switch frequency as long as it works talking between two radios. As most of the Baofeng channels use CTCSS they don't hear any other users on the channel.

Thank you Ubbe.
I have a Uniden HT scanner.
It was using a mag mount antenna on the car.
