This is only about the twentieth time this question has been asked here this week, so don't feel alone.

You are in ID SEARCH mode instead of ID SCAN mode. Read the manual and change the setting to ID SCAN mode, or else it will continue to stop on every active talk group.

ID SEARCH mode is useful for seeking out new or secret talkgroups that you didn't previously know about, but is a pain in the butt if you are trying only to listen to certain groups.

Good luck!

Yep!!! you fixed it!!!

Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, that was the problem.. i feel like an idiot!!! something so simple yet i was totally at a loss of what to do.... in the 4 days that i've had my scanner bct15, I've learned a tremendous amount.... I actually thought all i had to do was plug it in and turn it on..... thanks again.... je.

Trust me, that happens to almost all of us in the beginning. And the control setup of the 396 just makes it WAY to easy to accidentally bump it into SEARCH mode without even knowing it.
