Hey guys I just found your hobbie and belive I have a new one. I have a BC 235 xlt and have little clue of what Im doing. Is there any most do's with this scanner.

I basically programed most channels in my area field up bank 1 and 2. I live in the dallas area,

Jump on down to the Texas forum and you'll have more help than you know wihat to do with. There's also a Yahoo group devoted to the DFW area at:

The 235 is kinda lacking; it's only capable of 800 mhz Motorola trunking that is not digital (analog voice only), but it still may serve your needs if that's all you're interested in.
