I am now less out-of-pocket.... Here's the clincher: It took three days to get the internet/fone mess connected.... Day 1 the fone was supposed to have been reconnected via "the central office".... nothing, just a real nasty ground hum. Day 2 the technician was supposed to visit between 0800 and 1900 since it was now a service call..... No technician graced our door, but we had even nastier ground hum. Day 3 they show up and fix a number of problems, chief among them was the fact that on Day 1 they had us connected to another house.... My wife asks why it took so long for someone to show at the house.... it seems since there was no car in the driveway they didn't think anyone was home. But during the entire period no one thought to pull up and actually get out of the truck and knock! Kinda makes me wonder.... anyway, we kinda have service and I'm on line.
