Just to stir the pot a little. I'm suprised that these Uniden scanners are not better regulated here in Canada. Heaven forbid. Reason being, with this Close Call technology one could use it for illegal purposes. There has been many times I hear the coppers tailing a person of interest and it sounds like there right on there tail. Also, radar traps that utilize two officers, one with the radar gun and the other pulling people over. Close Call would tip off the scanner user in both instances. Just a thought.

I'm afraid the radar would have you before you got tipped off by the Close Call hit. Or, at best, you would get a close call hit of the one officer calling your speed to the 2nd officer. You would be far better off listening to the mobile repeater frequencies to hear the chatter as you approach a speed trap. As for someone being tailed... it's possible, but unlikely... Especially in a dense urban environment. Close Call doesn't work so well when it's bombarded from cell towers, pager transmitters etc etc.

...someone must have slipped it through after distracting the guard with a bundle of hash.

Thanks for a good chuckle multisync!
