can someone who maybe has both or has heard both tell me which one is better... i would like to purchase either a pro-106, or wait for the bc396xt,or even a bc396t... i know we have preferences for uniden or rs. but i would just like some other input.....

Your answer - whichever one works for your needs best. Check the feature set, check the pro's/con's listed numerous times, and decide. We can't answer that for you. Many of us have all of those scanners for various reasons.

They both make good quality scanners, when a new one comes out there always seems to be bugs to be worked out. Read the different posts, you have to live with the one you choose, so only you can answer that. Good Luck

did something for now!!

due to my problem with my other scanner pro-92 my other thread will explain. i just got back from radio shack and purchased a pro-164.... i figured ill try this one until they get more 106's and wow cant beat the deal. 149.99!! this will suffice being that digital is very limited in my area for now.. well gotta get programming thanks to all for your help...

also scannerface you can import pro97 files 163 and 164 files also into win500 pro-106 software. That way you only have to add P25 files to your scanner.
