“It’s gotten a little bit worse—there’s a problem more than there used to be,” says Carl Lepper, a senior director at J.D. Power. “The industry should be in the 8-9 range, My ears perk up when it gets above 10.”

That percentage of failed calls is a pretty awful bar to strive for.

I don't mind individual people being stupid, it's kind of fun to watch.

What bugs me is that other stupid people will read this and assume it's 100% true. Then the stupidity snowballs and grows, picking up more stupid people as it rolls along. Eventually the pile of stupid people is so big, that we have to start paying attention to them. While stupid, they do become a sizable force, and it takes more and more effort to explain to that sheer number of people how stupid they are. Eventually the intelligent people get tired of pointing out how stupid they are, and just sort of give up.

I was never one to read TIME, but is this the norm from them? I would expect a tad better coming from such an established organization. I dont want to find out the hard way and browse around their site...but for the good of the people, as stupid as they are, I will go into the depths of TIME to find more bull****

How many times can you say ‘stupid’ from your arrogant high-horse post? I know if we were having a face to face conversation, I guarantee your tone will be way different…

Academic sociology, as well as social psychology, recognizes the concept of 'collective stupidity' or 'mob think'. See Durkheim, et al. for particulars.

The whole TIME crew behind this must be trolling us.

Oh, and thanks to the mod that put this here. I had no clue there is an OT area. I guess I need to scroll south a bit more.
