I have an external speaker not amplified. How could I make it work with my home patrol scanner? Would an online amp work and if so, where can I get one?

Why not just buy an amplified scanner speaker from radio Shack and save yourself a lot of effort..?

A set of amplified computer speakers work good with a mono to stereo adapter in the house. I tried it in my vehicle with a power inverter and couldnt get it to work right for some wierd reason.
